Faith not fear!

In our current situation our response can be either one of fear or faith. When viruses or anything else overwhelms us, it’s called fear. But fear is the opposite of love because God says, “perfect love casts out fear” (I Jn. 4:18). And God did not give a spirit of fear but of power, and love and self-control (1 Tim. 1:7). Or our response can be “fides viva” that is “living faith” a truer reality bigger than us. When above all God overwhelms us, it’s called faith. I hope during this time may your faith in the great God of Scripture upholds you and your family. Also, encourage your children to look to Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith (Heb. 12:2). And, let us pray in the Holy Spirit who strengthens our faith. Whereas this virus is very unforgiving our God is merciful and empathetic in His endless love. Ultimately, we believe in the Gospel of Christ that has already delivered us from the virus of sin and death. Indeed, faith overcomes all fears. Amen.
